Post Hearing Brief: Plant McIntosh & Georgia's Integrated Resource Plan 2013
GreenLaw, on behalf of Sierra Club and Coosa River Basin Initiative, filed a 22-page, Post-hearing Brief regarding the continuance of Plant McIntosh, a coal-fired power plant located near Savannah, Ga.
The brief was submitted to the Georgia Public Service Commission for consideration as they lead up to a pinnacle vote on July 11, 2013 which will decide what types of energy production will be used to fuel the state for the next 20 years.
In the brief, GreenLaw requests that the PSC deny Georgia Power's request to incur significant expense on behalf of ratepayers to continue burning coal at Plant McIntosh. Details regarding the future costs of the plant are outlined.
