Today, GreenLaw, a nonprofit providing pro bono high-quality legal and technical assistance to environmental organizations and community groups throughout Georgia, announced its executive director, Stephanie Stuckey Benfield, was selected for Green Chamber of the South’s board of directors and Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership’s (IGEL) Class of 2013.

Stephanie Stuckey Benfield selected for Green Chamber of the South’s board of directors and Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership’s 2013 class

 
Stephanie BenfieldFebruary 8, 2013 (ATLANTA) – Today, GreenLaw, a nonprofit providing pro bono high-quality legal and technical assistance to environmental organizations and community groups throughout Georgia, announced its executive director, Stephanie Stuckey Benfield, was selected for Green Chamber of the South’s board of directors and Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership’s (IGEL) Class of 2013.
 
Founded in 2008 in Atlanta, the Green Chamber of the South supports the growth and success of sustainable business and encourages innovation and adoption of clean technology. The nonprofit organization works to make the Southeast the center of sustainable business in the United States. Benfield joins the 14-member board where she will lend her public policy, law and environmental justice expertise.
 
Now in its 13th year, IGEL is a leadership program dedicated to building and sustaining a diverse network of environmentally educated leaders who will help resolve Georgia’s environmental challenges.  Benfield was selected for IGEL’s Class of 2013, where she and 29 other participants will be exposed to potential and pressing environmental concerns throughout Georgia.  The participants were selected based on their proven commitment to confronting environmental issues and position to make a meaningful contribution to Georgia’s environment.

“Since joining GreenLaw’s staff in July 2012, Stephanie has increased our organization’s fundraising position, industry influence and brand awareness,” said Greg Presmanes, chairman of GreenLaw’s board of directors.  “Her new community leadership positions with the Green Chamber of the South and IGEL will further bolster GreenLaw’s mission and exposure.  We’re proud of Stephanie and the entire GreenLaw team who stand up each day for our state’s environment.”
